About Us
Rushden Boarding Kennels and Cattery has been established on the main A6 since 1933, and is probably one of the few kennels that isn't tucked away down country lanes. We have an acre and a half of peaceful orchards, where the dogs are exercised when out of their pens.
It has seen many changes over the year, culminating in us building a brand new kennel in mid 2004. This is the only kennel block n the locality that has been built to the latest standard regarding size and quality of the individual pens.
Each dog has its own large sleeping area which is tiled for hygenic reasons, and they have their own secure exercise area. All dogs are fed the same as they are at home to ensure no upset tummies to come home to. All the pens have thermostatically controlled heating to keep your pet warm during the colder months.
Our cattery is built to exceed the latest F.A.B. (Feline Advisory Bureau) conditions as regards inside space and fresh air from the large and secure outside runs, all with full height sneeze barriers.
We have been involved in training and breeding for over 30 years, so we have lots of varied experience. We are often assisted by our older children during our busiest times, who have grown up around our boarding businesses, and so are as much involved as were are ourselves.
Between us we have over 60 years experience, during which time we have involved ourselves in obedience training, breeding German Shepherds and of course boarding. You can be assured that we go by our motto, "it's the care that counts", which is why two local vets recommend us.
Please feel free to visit us any day between 9.00am and 12 noon, where you can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome. We deliberately keep our boarding numbers down, so that we can spend as much time as they can, working and caring for your dogs personally.
